    Fork Swap GS450

Im rebuilding a GS450 and I was curious how hard it would be to swap a modern fork onto the bike, preferably an inverted style of fork. I'm interested in using something that performs well with the weight of the bike. Also i'd like to retain the factory hubs. I plan on using the entire fork, triple clamp and bar set up of the forks I swap onto the bike.

I imagine the most important things to consider when swapping the forks are the axle width and length, the steerer tube length and width and the the bearings it uses. I plan on modifying the caliper and rotor size to work with the new forks.

If anybody has any words of advice, or knows of a direct bolt on fork, or a fork that would work with only a small amount of modification lay it on me.

    Thanks
    Brian

There was a guy on here ("Billy T" I think was the username) who had what I think was a late '90's GSXR 750 front end on his 450 and I believe it was a direct bolt on.

From memory he lost some ground clearance and may have had to do something about the bump stops but I seem to recall it was a very straight forward swap.

Do some searching on his username and I'm sure it will show up somewhere...
