    rear tire and rim size

Hi, I am redoing a 1978 GS750C, that I got out of a shed that was last run in 1994. Question is this, the tire on the rear is a 17 in. but the Basscliff says is should be an 18 in. How do I determine if the rim is the correct size? Did the PO force a 17 in. on the rim or is it a 17 in. rim? The rim seems to match the front one, except it is a 19 in, which is correct. Any advise would be appricated.

Take a careful look at the rim.
    It is cast into it.

Some spoke wheel bikes were changed over to aluminum wheels, either by a dealer or an owner.

I doubt that it is an 18" rim, I'd hate to have to try getting a 17 inch tire on an 18 inch rim. I'm not that though. Ray
