Installing Caliper Pistons - Any Tips?

I am trying to install the front caliper pistons in my 1981 GS750E, using the instructions in my Chiltons manual and not having much luck. I have lightly coated the bores and new seals with clean brake fluid. I have installed a new seal in the groove in each caliper. But I cannot get either piston past the seal!

    Anybody have any advice?

It has to go straight in - twist it around with some light pressure and it should slide right in

Gotta admit I'm dumb. Was trying to put them in upside down. They go in much easier the right way!

      Thanks!
