CBR929 / CBR954 Steering Stem Triples specific question

    Hi,

    I'm putting 92 GSXR750 forks on my 79 GS750, and using a triple off an 01 CBR929.

I bought the bearings to convert to the CBR triple.

I read at some point that a person used a 4mm spacer under the lower bearing. Does anyone know if this is required? Is the stem a little to long or something?

Are folks using any sort of dust seal on the bottom?

    How about steering stops?

At this point I'm leaning toward drilling and tapping the "nubs" on the lower triple and using bolts that stick out about an inch that would make contact with the frame. I've seen where people are drilling the frame, but I'm not crazy about messing with the weld.

The other option would be to weld a tab in the center of the lower section of the steering stem.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks.
