Need confirmation that fork seals are bad

I've decided that my bike is going down for the winter this weekend. The outside of the front fork has a layer of oil on it, so I'm pretty sure this means I need to replace the seals, but I just wanted to make sure before I start tearing it apart.

    Thanks!

If you want to confirm that they are leaking, raise up the top cover and see what you see.

Anybody have good suggestions for where to get new seals?

Can anyone give me a rough estimate on prices for new springs?

Seals and progressive suspension springs from Z1 enterprises.
Seals are about $12.00 per pair and the springs are about $75.00.

Nevermind, Cycle Recycle has the seals for $13. Works for me.

OEM seals are best by far.

They're only about $17 each. Well worth the small extra cost.

Rip 'em apart, you'll be glad you did.
The fluid in mine was absolutely disgusting, tons of gunk sitting at the bottom.

The biggest mistake I made was using 15w40 oil in the forks...very solid on the tracks or smooth roads, but on "less" than perfect roads, it's OUCH, OUCH!
