    If those are 35mm forks then these emulators with a set of Sonic straight weight springs will likely work out nicely for you....

    I haven't tried it myself but Racetech ones make a good difference & these are a bargain in price compared to those (and are incredibly similar, i've seen both types).

      what do the imulators do exactly? i've heard of them but never really seen or heard a good explanation.

        Getting another 20 HP out of that motor would be tough to do without spending a great deal of cash. However, you could try to find a GS1000E motor, and stuff it into that frame. That'd be a bit of an uptick in the power dept. But the 8v 750 motors, spun up, are really fun, perky, and smooth. And they'll run forever, bullet proof.

          Essentially they allow you to control compression damping independent of Rebound damping.

          On our forks the only way to adjust either is change the weight of the fork oil & changing it to suit one screws up the other.

          With the emulators you get both high speed & low speed compression damping circuits (our forks currently have one circuit that tries to do both, that's why you get a lot of brake dive (low speed) as well as harshness on square edged bumps (High speed) as it's a compromise of the two.

          The 1100 16v engine would also fit in your frame I expect. There's your 20hp..

            It might fit, but I think his is the 8V 750 "L", not the one Larry has.. Still might fit, but would need some degree more of shoehorning im sure..

              The 1100 16v is a straight fit where the 1000 goes... the 1000 drops straight into the 750E's... so I just extrapolated. Not tried it. TKent might have....

                TCK is right the 8v 750 is a fun and really tough motor. i do like it. just every now and then when a newer bike blasts by you it makes you wish for a bit more. ill start looking into those emulators. do you just put them in or is their tuning involved? im figuring tuning is involved. and yes my bike is a 750L.

                  Once the damper rods are drilled you set them and ride. Additional tuning is easy, just remove the fork caps (bike supported) fish out with grabber or magnet, adjust and drop back in...

                  10w or 15w oil will be about right for rebound, you can try it and see. A fork oilchange is simple too.

                      which spring set do you think i should get? sonic offers them in .90kg, 1.00kg, and 1.10kg. i'm around 180lbs.

                            I'm waiting on some orings to come in before I can finish up mine. I'll include the info in my project thread (81 550t in Co Sprgs) once I'm done (hopefully next week).

                                when measuring the forks to find out what size you have(34, 35 ,37mm etc.) where do u measure? everywhere i've looked say i should have 35 mm. forks. i used a caliper to measure the o.d. of the upper fork tubes ( the part that goes in the triple tree) and it measures 37mm. is that the right measurement?
