    140 tire on 2.75 wheel

I keep searching this but turns up a lot of talk about 2.5, 3, and 3.5" wheel results.

Anyone run a 140/80/16 or 140/90/16 on a 2.75" wide wheel or is it best to stick with a 130?

My tires will need to be replaced hopefully before riding season and I would really like to try the 140/80 unless it is highly unadvised.

What tyre? If you are fitting a roadrider you can look it up on the Avon Website. Gives you the recommended plus the min-max requirements.

I would say 2.75 is a bit narrow for a 140 but 2.5 is also a bit narrow for a 130 and most do that.....

I suspect either will be ok, as nobody else has a rim that width (where did you find that one?) on a Suzuki I reckon you might have to look elsewhere to find out what tyres people are using.

I dont know what the wheel is from but it was on the bike when i got it. and the style matches the front and the other 2.5x17 rear I have.

Its the wheel on the bike in this picture. and stamped 2.75x16 on it.

Just noticed you can actually read it at 4 o clock position in this picture.

If it's Suzuki then it must be from an L or T model, I don't think anything else had 16" on the rear...

Like the bike, you've done a lot of work to it!

        Have you considered running a 17 x 3" or 17 x 3.5" 1150 wheel with a matching front from an 83 1100E?

          Thanks,

yeah i would love to swap to wider wheels but just have to wait for a smokin deal and the right timing money wise. plus shipping kills. Figured I'll just keep watching the classifieds.

There is a guy in Canada that regularly lists 1150 parts.. Pousseux is his username from memory...

I got a rear 3.5" from him for a reasonable price.
