    Smaller rear master cylinder?

I'm still working on my '82 GS1100G. One of the things I want to do is get rid of the side covers to make the bike look more open and minimal - already I have relocated most of the stuff that goes under the seat area so all that you can really see under the seat is the battery, in it's nice new box.

But the rear brake master cylinder on this bike sticks up into this space like a relic from the steam age. Does anyone know of a more compact master cylinder arrangement I could use?

I know this is a bit of an odd question and I realise that not everyone will share my taste, but I really like this look! Thanks!

You could use any modern small reservoir. You'll just have to check the hose fits, or do a mod to make it fit.

Thanks. I'll have to check some out. It's difficult to find what they all look like though - motorcycle repair shops generally don't have them on display!

Relocate it to a less conspicuous area.
