Steering stop placement "79 gs 1000 '91 GSXR

I'm putting a 91 GSXR 1100 front end on my 1979 GS 1000, and I keep searching, but can't find a picture or diagram of placement of the steering stops that must be installed. Can anyone point me to an example of this? Thanks.

First, cut off the big stop that runs at the right front of the steering stem

From there, you can engineer what you want. The left stop is usable, but may allow too much travel.

The left stop is definitely too long, I drilled and used a bolt to shorten it up. Mine's an 92 Katana front end

    From front

Left front - see where I cut off the stop?

Different fork, similar idea. I could have cut the one off at the front of the triple but it wasn't harming anything... Those stops are threaded on the ends you can't see with a cap head allen bolt in them so you can add washers to adjust. The 750 frame has steerer stop "pads" in the gusset where the head tube meets the down tube.

Monk, that's exactly the picture I was trying to find (again). Thanks much.

I can give you the CAD files for the stops if you want them...

On one side I used the Steering damper hole (as I wasn't planning to run one/would get a collar that bolts to the fork leg if I really needed one), on the other I drilled my own hole & reinforced it with a big spreader plate (washer) cut to fit in the hollow of the triple from below.
