'83 Kat Tire Max Sizes ???
What is the widest tires I can run on my factory rims ?? And can i run the Metric radial tires if so what size would cross over to the 3.50/19 frnt. and 4.50/17 rearTags: None

The "normal" metric sizes are 100/90*19 and 130/90*17.
The recommended wheel width for a 140 wide tire is 3.5" and 4" for a 150 tire.
You can get a 3.5" wheel from a GS 1150 or a 4" wheel from a first gen GSXR 1100 with the same spoke pattern but neitheir are a straight fit...sigpicJohn Kat

Have a look at this chart...
Tire Size vs. Rim Width Chart
It will tell you the sizes possible but not necessarily the size that handle the best. Optimum tire width will depend on the rim width.

The sizes I was quoting are for the rear only!
The std rim sizes on an 110 Kat are 1.85 front and 2.5 rear.
You will not be able to go larger on the front unless you change the front fork as well.
For the rear, I gave you a few options available if you want to go to 3.5 or 4" wide.sigpicJohn Kat
