    GS1000 caliper choices?

    Hey people

I remember the GS brakes being well adequate but in this day and age of increased traffic..... needing to stop is a must...

Anyhow, I know with a bit of engineering most calipers will fit eg CBR600, but i wonder what the GSX1100 calipers are like in trying to keep a bit of originality and look...

My bike has the round master cylinder which I would like to maintain it with them as it is a 79' model...

Can anyone suggest a decent upgrade or modification....???

The '80 and newer ones bolt up. Ono of my '78's has them.

Great improvement! Easy and inexpensive too!

      '78 1000E with '82-'83 1100E calipers/pads/rotors...

      '79 1000E with '80-'84 1000G calipers/pads/rotors...

They are the same thing - Europe and most of the rest of the world received the GSX designation long before the US ever did. So it's GS here and GSX there.

They are called different names over the ponds.
The 4-valve 1100 calipers are pictured.
Those, are off of one of these with the shorter banjo bolts...

            Hope that helps.

Yes, as it is also for two calipers, right?
I change them to the newer rectangular style if I have a spare because I like the look better myself.
