    New tire advice please...

I need to replace the Bridgestone Battalax(was not impressed with wet weather handling) tires on my 80 gs750e front-100/90-19 rear 120/90-18
I have been told good things about Avon Roadriders. I'm open to any advice... I weigh 215lbs, I like to think I can ride aggressive and I live on Vancouver Island which means getting caught in the rain. Price does not matter that much although would like to stay around $300. for the pair, it's more important to me to get good sticky tires as I have slipped a couple of times on my current tires and oddly enough.. I didn't like it!
Thanks guys for your help and advice as always.

Funny you should ask.....I was gong through this myself, and in looking around and asking, some advise from SVSooke, and others from other sites, and some buddies locally who ride, I have the following to offer....

these all come from here - http://www.petes-superbike.com/english

    Pirelli Sport Demon
    front - 88.95
    rear - 119.95

    Avon Road Raider
    front - 106.95
    rear - 92.95

these were in the following size
    front - 110x90-16
    rear - 130x80-17

    also looked at the

    Bridgestone BT45 Sport Touring
    front - 90.95
    rear - 114.95

now these were in the following size

    front - 100x90-16
    rear - 130x80-17

you will need to add tax and shipping to your order, he has a online calculator, so it should give you a good idea of total cost

I know the sizes are a bit off from yours, but it gives you some idea, hope this helps, he has many more to chose from....and by the way I have no first hand knowledge with any of the tires mentioned above.

I asked our pal Rob(azr) about the Avon's,he liked them.Think I'm going to do the stock size 3.25x19 front and 4.00x18 rears on the Red Skunk.

I like the Metzler lasertecs for traction confidence. I have cheaper Shinko 230's on my commuter.

I like the Lazertec's on the 85 750EF but it seems they have been discontinued

I just bought a pair of lasertecs from bikebandit the other day, I hope they are not discontinued or that may be my last set.

If you like to "lean" on a budget, or need a soft-tread to burn up on track days,
              Avons are perfect.

I have cheaper Shinkos on my other bike, and often find myself "cringing" alittle bit in hard turns...definitely not as good as the RoadRiders in that aspect. But they are great for riding on bad roads or going in a straight line, lol....you get what you pay for!

The Roadriders get better traction in wet than a lot of tires do in dry.

Life is too short to ride an L.

Thanks that's what I wanted to hear! Ordered them from Petes Superbike in Quebec. $86 front. And $106 for the rear. That's a great price in Canada! Thanks for all the advice as always guys.
