Longer axle for 1100 vs 750??

I just installed 1100 forks on my 78 750 and it seems like the axle is too short. Is this as simple as getting the 1100 axle and machining some wider spacers? All help is truly apreciated!!!!

Should be... as long as the bearing sizes are the same. If not you might have to change the bearings & the inner spacer as well.

Do the rotors & calipers line up?

I'm running into the same issue. The GS1000/GS750L/GS850L front axles are all about 5mm longer than the 78 GS750E....

E-bay... find a used one. Slap it in. Try to get it with the spacers if you can.

I am using rotors from the 1150 which I think have a more nostalig look than the slotted versions. I will be using calipers from a Bandit and building custom brackets. The wheel bearings are the same size I just have to track down an axle. Thanks for the feedback guys.
