    Brake Pads?

So after just getting the new gsx400f, the brakes need an overhaul.

So next week its time to bleed, maybe SS cables and DEFINETELY new pads....

Can anyone recommend a compatible pad that would be best suited?

I found a few on ebay that were compatible....

would these be fine? or is there something better out there?

Do you want the best possible pad life, or the best possible braking?

My son also has a GSX400F and we recently put SBS pads on front and rear. They work fine so far.

If you do not have a maintenance history of your bike from the previous owner, I would strongly suggest that you rebuild the front and rear calipers as well as front and rear master cylinders with new OEM seals. Do not trust aftermarket parts for this job. Just think of grabbing front brake when you really need it, only to find the lever coming back to the bar, to put you off considering aftermarket brake parts.

You cannot imagine how much gunk builds up in the calipers. The only way to ensure safe, efficient braking again is to do complete caliper and master cylinder rebuilds together with hose replacement.

Post up some pictures of your bike. I will search my archives for a picture or two - I know I have some of that nasty looking caliper!

        Hi,

I use EBC pads. The sintered pads may stop a little quicker but will eat your rotors. I like the Organic Kevlar pads.

        Thank you for your indulgence,

I've got Metal Gear organic ones on mine and happy with them so far. A whopping $15.50 for the set I think it was.

This might be right for your bike, but not 100% sure:

              $16.95 for organic pads.
