Crappy shocks on my 1978 GS550E

When the original shocks on my '78 GS550E wore out, I replaced them with a cheapo set of EMGO shocks...and they are HORRIBLE! The ride is like having hard "dog-bones" instead of shocks, even on the lowest pre-load setting.

I need some recommendations on what replacement shocks to buy. I usually ride this bike solo, and I weigh about 175 lbs without helmet, jacket, boots.

    Any recommendations, folks?

Welcome to the site and Basscliff should be along later to give you the official welcome that includes many recommendations. However, I can tell you I'm liking my Hagon shocks I bought from www.davequinnmotorcycles.com
