    correct springs for 1982 gs1100gl

i ordered replacement progressive springs from Z1 enterprises. they seem much shorter than the old ones. the new ones are on the left old ones on the right. are they going to work for it?
    thanks

Sure they are, just follow the directions.

Did you see something in the directions about installing a spacer? It will probably a couple of inches long. For a starting point, hold the two springs together, cut a spacer (of heavy-duty PVC water pipe) that will make the new spring about half an inch longer than the old one. Install the spring, then a washer, then the spacer. Measure your front end "sag", adjust the length of the spacer as necessary. You are looking for 1.0-1.5" of sag at the front.

should i make another spacer to add to the current one that i have? there were no instructions for the new springs. the old spacer is about 3" long already.

i just measured them and they are only 19" long. i looked at a site that had specs for my spring that were 24.5" for part # Fork Spring Kit 11-1106. the box says that part # but i dont think their that spring, any suggestions?

          Nevermind.
I just looked up springs for an '82 GS1100L and the part number is 11-1107.
There is no listing for an '82 1100GL.
Call progressive and see if they are right for your application.
