what is the use of the rear caliper shim ?

I changed my rear breaks on my gs 750 77 and noticed they were no shims between the pistons and the pas so I didn't bother but today I went to bike bandit and you can see those shims in the assembly what are they for?

If they are the shims I am thinking of, between the pads and the piston or the caliper, you will notice that they have an opening about half the size of the piston, that should be on the leading side of the pad. That will put just a bit more pressure on the trailing edge, and should keep them from chattering and making noise.

    Sometimes they actually work.

basically heres what you need to remember...at the top theres an arrow notched out. That arrow points to the front of the bike.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
