    chain/tire alignment questions

    Hi all,

just spooned a new shoe on the rear of the gs today, 1100 es running 1150 3.5" rear wheel. Working on wheel alignment, using the "string method", the chain adjustment marks end up off by a full mark. I know the marks are notoriously unreliable, BUT off by a whole mark seems like a lot? I honestly dont know where the marks were when i took it off.

I'm wondering if maybe there is a spacer issue with the 1150 wheel in there; i am referring here to the running controversy concerning this wheel swap.

another issue i have noticed is some runout in the rear sprocket, maybe about 2mm of runout? the wheel rim itself shows no significant runout. reasonably new sprocket with little wear, maybe 6000 miles on the chain and sprockets.

any input would be appreciated, thanks!
