Anybody put calipers in carb dip before?

So my calipers are pretty filthy. Nothing really seems to be doing the trick of getting all of 30+ years of gunk off. I'd rather not spend a whole lot of time sanding and polishing these things, so I thought about letting them sit in Berryman's for a few hours. I don't care about the paint at this point.

So, anybody ever dipped their calipers before?

if your not worried about the paint then go ahead..but i suggest a 24 soak . see if you can get 2 at a time in the can by removing the basket. Just the bodies and pins thought...no brake pads in there.

Pistons okay too?

Pistons will be fine, but they can be sprayed and wiped off easily, so you won't gain much by dipping them.

Be sure to completely clean the interiors after dipping

Take the seals out of the grooves in the caliper bodies and be sure to clean the grooves as spotless as you can when oputting the new ones in..the cleaner the better the seal and the better the piston will perform. Heres a little trick for clearing those rusted shut bleeders. Take a propane torch and get them real hot and quench in water and repeat. This will crack all the rust and corrosion out of the hole that runs down the center and out the side at the bottom.
