GSXR Front/Rear Ends on '77 GS750

I've searched a bit and looks like most folks on here are upgrading early 80s 1100 models. Anyone done a '77 model? Is there a bolt - on GSXR front end/ swingarm? Seems like bearings on the steering stem are a possible issue. Can you pop the old races out and press in new races compatible with more modern steering stems? Is it at all possible to use the spoked wheel with a gsxr conversion? Or do you have to swap to modern mag wheels?

I did read up on Katman's post, but figured I'd ask questions here rather than there.

I know there is a table that lists all steering stem bearings for all Suzuki bikes that will tell you if they are the same or not but I forgot where it is located

I have a 79 GS750 and I converted it to a GSXR 600 front end with wire wheels. The wire wheels are from a 78 GS750. The fork conversion was straight forward and simple.. The wire wheels are what really make things challenging. Most folks would rather have the newer GSXR wheel after they went through the conversion from old to new but not me (and it sounds like you're like me). I want that wire wheel look and size. SO I chose the 78 wire wheel because it has dual disc. So now I'm in the process of making spacers for the hub so that I can run 320mm rotors to the correct width so I can use stock GSXR calipers. After I'm done with mine I'm going to make multiples of parts so I can sell the spacers as a conversion so people can swap to GSXR fork and run a standard GS750 mag or wire wheel. Let me know if you have any questions on the fork or want in on the conversion spacers

I see it's been a bit of time since you posted, but I'm doing a similar conversion w/ a GSXR1000 front end for my '78 GS1000. Did you have to do different bushings for your '78 wheel/axle to fit the new forks? The GSXR forks/trees are 1" wider from side-to-side and the axle is 1 1/4" vs. 7/8" on my GS. Trying to find commerically available bushings for this so I don't have to make them (pipe dream I'm sure). Thanks for the insight.

Just bang the races out. Google allballsracing and look on their conversion chart. It will tell you what you need to get.
