    1150 oil filter studs?

    Hi all,

I'm finally getting around to changing the oil filter on my 1150 after getting it back from the jerk who stole it (yea Berkeley PD!), and find that the studs that go through the oil filter cover into the block, are stripped.

I've got some new studs on order. In the mean time, any advice on getting the old ones out in one piece and installing the new ones, would be quite appreciated. I can't find anything about it in the manuals I've got.

    thanks,

There are several threads on this, somewhere.

      Here are your options.
      1.)vise-grips
      2.)soak it
      3.)heat it(propane)
      4.)weld a nut onto it.
      5.)drill it, and re-tap

      no particular order.
