I got tubes in?
I thought I had tubeless? I took the wheel to dealer to check on valve stems..the guy says looks like a tube inside, breaks the beads and sure enough, he says there's a tube and I should plan on new tubes when my new tires get mounted..WTF! 79'gs850 with mag wheels..Tags: None

There's lots written on here about this topic. In the end it really does come down to a choice. To tube or not to tube....From personal experience from my own 79 850, I seem to remember the front had a tube and the rear didn't, go figure.Rob

Just checked the rims on my bike and neither of them say tubeless, checked the owners manual and it doesn't say anything about using tubes in the tires. I don't recall if the original tires having tubes when I replaced them. I've since been running Dunlop tubeless tires with out any problems what so ever.
Hmm, just checked two spare rims (same as the ones on the bike) I have and neither one says tubeless as well, but, one still has a tire on when I bought it and there is a tube in it. Thoughts?Last edited by mrbill5491; 11-02-2012, 10:57 AM.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002

Picked up my wheel today had them put in new tube too. They said they spin balanced it and it required no weight? I thought these inexpensive Shinkos needed more weight than others? Oh well, it's done and I have a good spare tube for whatever... I'll get the rear done this week once I receive my new rear shinko in transit.

Picked up my wheel/tire today and sure felt safer on a short ride tonight! Think I'll try the rear when the tire is delivered
