New tires for my 85 750

The Metzeler Lazertec's on Old Yeller are in need of replacement. The 100/110x16 front tire is an choice limiting factor. Can't afford another set of Metzlers.Would love to try a set of Shinko 712's or 230's but not available in that size front.Starting to look like Avon Roadriders are my only option. Not a hard rider so I don't want or need short lived sticky tires.Any other tires I might consider?

The Roadriders are not all that short lived.

If I still lived in a rainy place I would be all over them for the wet traction.

Life is too short to ride an L.

I was thinking about Pirelli Sport Demons and Bridgestone BT45's as the short lived sticky types I would rather avoid.Thinking I pretty much exhausted the subject to as there are so few 16" fronts available.

Not that anybody cares but I ordered a Shinko 110/80x16 front and the local dealer has a 130/90x17 230 Shinko in stock for the rear. With $15 for the mounting for both it will be about $200 OTD.

I'm looking at new rubber for the FZ and it too has a 16" front. As you mention there is not a lot of choice but I can get Metzlers, Avon, Bridgestone and possibly Pirellis. From Pete's Superbike out of Montreal, they are around $250 a pair before tax and shipping so more like $300/$320 all in. More than I'd like to spend but what are you going to do?

..not true! I care! and if you have things to say about 'em, I'll read it! If it isn't me looking for tires, someone I know is.

OK I Goolged Shinko and got they're website. The front is a SR735,the only size listed is a 110/90-16.Geussing the dealers book had a typo.

              SR735

              STREET / CRUISER TIRE

The SR735 utilizes a popular touring/cruiser tread pattern that can be mounted as a front or rear.

It's not that I'd even go that fast, more a question of compatability.I just don't want a freaky set up on my the bike.An S rated front with a V rated rear seems like a really BAD idea. They have an Avon Venom 100/90-16 (hopefully) in stock at Kenco to go with the 230 Shinko. It's either do that or go with a set of Avon's from Pete's SB.Even with the shipping Kenco can't even come close to they're prices

OK I need some advice here, what should I do?Get the Avon Venom front and Shinko 230 rear combo from the local guy? OR order a set of Avon Roadriders from these guys http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/ ?The money is about the same.Part of me wants to go local but the other part likes matching tires

I'd stick with a matching set of tires.

Went to the local dealer,it seems the Shinko SR736 he ordered for me was already in transit to him.I'm going to get that off hin along with the Shinko 230 rear.Total will be just shy of $260 OTD installed and balanced.

I always felt comfortable with a matching set.
I have been happy with Motorcycle Superstore.....but as long as I keep running the Shinko 230 I will likely continue to use this guy http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=56256639877

Great prices and almost every size combination imaginable. Search is tire set list.
I think this is the set I got for my 650e. Two day shipping for me....but I am in the same state.
