    Fork overhaul GS1000E question

Just doing a fork overhaul on my Suzuki GS1000E 1979 model. Have taken out the spacers, the spring guide under the spacer and the springs. Also removed the oil dampers. Just checking on the fiches and it looks like there should be a washer that goes on top of the oil damper, but there was not any on mine. Been checking Mr Matchless's tutorial and he doesn't mention one either, do any of you guys know please.

Very curious. I've done 78's, 79's and 80's and don't remember there ever being one there. I'm going to have to go outside now and pull apart one of my dry ones to check. Maybe it is there but it's down in the fork still? strange indeed.
