What forks can I use for suzuki KATANA

I want to upgrade my front forks on my 1982 suzuki katana; Basically I would like to know if there are better forks from different suzuki models that I can put into the stock triple trees. Or are there any internal upgrads I can do to my stock katana forks. My forks are way too old now and I would like to make them better than factory if I could. Please let me know about any options out there. thanks

The possibility's are endless. Depending on how much fab work you can do.. The simplest swap I understand is early 90's GS1100 chain model

To get a real improvement you need to get a cartridge type fork.
There are many possibilities such as Katman's: http://www.suzuki-katana.com/katana_suspension.html
I personally went with Bandit 1200 stanchions in GSXR 1100 K triple trees.
This is what it looks like:

I know that there are many conversions, I"m just looking for forks that will go dirrectly into the triple trees, I'm not looking to do customs set up;; I was thinking that the gs1150 stock forks might fit, but I'm just not sure what would be a good fork that will fit into the stock triple tree, and possibly respring them... I'm looking more for a period correct modification, something the good old boys would of done back in the day to make them handle better.

          That's easy
You get some RaceTech springs and Gold Valves installed in your forks.
You'll feel a huge difference for sure!

LOL gold valves... One of my old katans had some springs inside that were shorter and shimed by a white rubber cylinder, those forks handled way way better than stock but I have no idea what springs they used, damn

The RaceTech site will allow you to compute the springs you need wrt to the weight of the bike.
I have used .95kg/mm on a GS 1000 S and it worked fine
