Installing springs on shocks - Now even easier!

Got some new Progressive Suspension shocks for the 1100, but didn't have a tool to install the springs.

My suicide sticks for car struts were way too big, and I didn't like most of what I found on youtube.

Read here that some people wear heavy leather gloves and press them down by hand, while another person installs the keeper.

I took two pieces of scrap angle iron and found it was VERY easy to push the spring down by hand while my son installed the keepers. Used some old socks to protect the springs. Turned out to be a two minute job, and saved me waiting to buy a new tool, to say nothing of the cost. Pics below.

FWIW, Dennis Kirk had these for $195 shipped, the lowest price I have found. Ride performance is unbelievably improved.
