    1982 Gs1100gl Fork oil

Guys how much fork oil do I use for a 1982 GS1100GL. The service manual doesn't list my bike. Searched and couldn't come up with the answer.

    Thanks all.

Be surprised if you couldn't find a volume & a "height" for that in a Clymers or Haynes.....

Usually it's about 140mm from the top of the fork leg with the leg fully compressed & spring removed. I overfill a couple of mm then get a spray bottle top, cut the straw to the right length & "pump" out the excess into a rag.

It's usually more important to get them equal, raising the oil height raises resistance to bottoming the fork & is commonly used as a tuning variable (though not by most average GS riders! Little point). Within reason with street use you will likely not notice 10-20mm in either direction in my experience...

I dumped a cup in each of mine (82 EZ)

            One cup = 8oz or 1/2 a bottle.
            82 1100 EZ (red)
