    drive splines

Got new tires mounted on my bike (used cable tie method-worked quite well), So I have greased the wheel drive spline and spline on bike with moly grease. Was wondering if I should put some of the grease around the part that has the wheel bearing in it and then slides into drive on bike. Not talking about putting any on the bearing, just the outside of the part the bearing fits into. terrylee

    Hi,

I've always used regular axle grease, I think mine has 3% moly, for the non-critical areas. I'll put a little dab on the spacers and axle when I reassemble. I save the expensive grease for the high-temp and high-friction areas.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Thanks Cliff, just wasn't sure if needed to put it anywhere but on the splines. terrylee
