Some brake fluid around inner rotor
Just checked the inside of the left front brake rotor of my 79 GS1000E which is white powder coated and there is a very thin film of oil on it. Have removed the caliper and the rubber boot looks to be dry, there was just a minimal amount of fluid on the inside of the inner pad. Just wondering what my next plan of attack should be, would appreciate your thoughts.Tags: None

Rinse it with water. If it comes off, it's brake fluid. If it's still there, it's probably from the fork seals like Max said.

Thanks for the answers guys, the thin film of oil is on the opposite rotor to the leaky fork seal, so not related. It is odd because the dust seal is dry

banjo bolt union weeping? may only weep under pressure. wipe it all dead dry, wrap a paper towel (kitchen roll) round it and tie the brake lever on with a cable tie. leave for 15-20 minutes and see if towel is wet.........1978 GS1085.
Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!
