    What's that washer on the bench for???

    So put the second fork back together with brand new seal. Put the retaining circlip in and thought "huh...why is the seal way down below the clip?"

    Looked on the bench and there was the spacer washer that should have been between the upper bush and the seal .

    Tried to get the seal back out and totally ruined it. Now have to order another seal and WAIT for it to come in....

    Was really wanting to be riding by now. This "rebuild" is going to take F O R E V E R...

    I know the feeling - tried about 4 times to install the cylinders on my 550T when I realized I'd forgotten to install the new cylinder orings first. Then found out the base gasket ripped.

    All part of the fun of wrenching.
