Which is the preferred rear wheel for the 2V 750?

Hey everyone, I have a 78 GS750 and both a standard 18 inch and 17 inch rear wheel from a later model 1100. They look to be about the same height with the tires installed. I think the 18 looks better, is there an advantage to the 17 other than the 130 width increase? Shoud I bother trying the 17 incher?

Beware the wheels might not have the same offset

What "later model 1100" had an 18" rear wheel?

Sorry for the confusion, the stock rear wheel on my 1978 750 is an 18 inch. The other rear wheel I have is from a 1981 GS1100 and its a 17 inch. I am at work so I dont have the width sizes but I am pretty sure the 17 inch wheel is a 2.50 and the 18 inch wheel is a 2.15.
