argh! I broke my break fluid resivoir

I was cleaning and disassembling (in order to rebuild the master cylinder gaskets) and put a smidgen to much pressure on the 1980 plastic reservoir. it cracked and I'm looking for ideas. I can't seem to find it OEM or at the junk yard. can I figure out some way of using a universal one?

Which exact bike are we speaking of, here?

I have replaced a few of those on 850 and 1000Gs. Not expensive. They get brittle and chalky looking.

You really got to help yourself out by at least giving us something to work with, like maybe a few details about your bike, such as:
Year,
Size,
Model.
Front or back.

Who knows, someone may have one available, but without any particulars,
just saying you need one really doesn't help.

It looks like he has an 80 GS1000G. It really helps to put one's bike in one's signature...

Alpha-sports.com shows both reservoirs for the GS1000GT still being available new OEM. G&S says about $16 for the front (reservoir only) and $37 for the rear (reservoir kit, includes cap).

looking at his older threads, its almost certainly a 1000G, some refer to front brake problems so i am guessing he still hasn't got it sorted yet........

My 81 1000G and 80 850G has the rectangle plastic res. and both look like I could poke my finger through them. I like the aluminum ones much better. No plastic to crack.

More info! sorry about that.

I have a 1980 gs1000g and it is the reservoir for the front break cylinder. I have the rebuild kit, and was taking it apart when the breakage happened. I'm embarrassed about the lack of info I provided, but really impressed with you guys for how much help you offered without knowing to much specifics. I'll check out the OEM stuff.
