Yea so I finally got around to switching the wheels and I ran into another problem.....the old non slotted rotor have a gap ( measured from.rim.to inside if rotor) 1 7/16" and the other rotor slotted also measured to same way was 1 1/2 "....having a larger rotor gap will cause more problems.
my axle look good according to the parts ficheLast edited by Guest; 07-23-2013, 08:44 PM.

You can't measure that way I don't think... you have to measure from the bearing face.
Pretty easy to see if the rotors have the same offset, lay them down flat on a sheet of glass & see if they are the same height.1980 GS1000G - Sold

Well I got it all back together and it looks good and fits.. now my problem is when I tighten the axle nut it squeezes the forks together to much causing the calipers to bind..I have maybe 7 turns on it.. got a while before I hit Tue cotter key hole... anyone got a measurement for the axles? Maybe a dufferance in length between the ez and.gk?

Your fork spacers must be the wrong size if you can do that...1980 GS1000G - Sold

There are shoulders on the axle spacers that go toward the hub so as to not allow the forks to bend in. Shoulder fits up against the inside of the axle hole on the forks. Check to see the spacers are installed the right way.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
