no, i was just wondering if you did have the wheel off, it doesn't need to be.
dunno mate, are you sure you put the calipers back together correctly?
maybe post up some pics so we can have a look at whats going wrong here......1978 GS1085.

it looks like you need to remove the mounting brackets from the calipers and clean up and lubricate the sliding pins. they seize up with lack of maintenance and the calipers dont slide back and forth as they should do.
you can see one of the bolts next to the bleed nipple in the first pic1978 GS1085.

Looks to me like the rotor is too close to the fork leg. Is this on the 82 1100? Those look like the early 78-79 rotor & I think the offset & thickness of the braking surface is different.
Hows the gap on the other side?
Also a possibilty of the spacers being wrong on the wheel, maybe there is a spacer that needs to go between the speedo drive & the fork leg on that model, I don't think so but it's worth a look....1980 GS1000G - Sold

Yes its a 82 gs1100. Other side went in good..idk think i might pull the wheel off the gk and pit it on the ez and see if that helps at all. Plus the gk has slotted brakes
