    Shocking photo

This was what I needed to do to install a center stand over the weekend.

I refused to remove the exhaust system for fear of breaking the mounting bolts so resorted to lean the bike over on carb board boxes.

I took a break and went in the house when my wife drove up freaking that someone had knocked over my bike...

You do know you can use the side stand instead of boxes

Yes but had to work around the exhaust pipes so needed more elbow room.

Leaned over in that position afforded me a better chance of installing the return spring without the proper tool.... no fun in that one.

Glad to see these urban maintenance methods make it to the mainstream. Like flipping a Corolla on its side to change the muffler.

I once rolled a 68 Chevelle on it's side to change a transmission, just put some tires down without rims and a chain over the roof to the back of my dads pickup. flopped it right up. Left it hooked to the truck till I had the trans changed then dropped it back on all 4 .
