can i move up\down in aspect ratio?

I find it difficult to find tires for my bike (in my country) importing is a bureaucratic hell.
the stock size is 3.00X18 front and 3.50X18 rear. this translate to 90/90-18 and 110/90-18.

If i'll move to 80 aspect ratio and fit 100/80-18 front and 120/80-10 rear i'm only loosing about 10 mm of ride height and i believe the rims will accept the slightly wider tires.
what effects will it have on handling etc...?

Same question for going up to 100% aspect ratio?

    Thanks

I use 100/90-18 front and 110/90-18 rear on mine and they're fine. I run Pirelli Sport Demons and love them.

Not sure how different the 80 series will be, but I think 120 width on the rear will be getting close to the chain.

You sure you want knobbies on your 400?

If you do put a rear tire on the front, be sure to turn it around so the "drive direction" arrow points the opposite way.

you wont be losing 10mm of ride height. the middle number of the tyre size is a percentage of the tyre width, not a measurement.
          a 90/90 height is 81mm (90% of 90) and a 100/80 is 80mm(80% of 100), so you only lose 1mm

            thanks,
            yes i know it's a knobbie, it's the look i'm after (scrambler,tracker etc...)
so it should be no issue to use it on the front if i reveres it, good to know.
what about going 1 aspect ratio lower?

why would you want low profile knobbies?

your right off course,i was doing the math for same tire width with different aspect.
110/90 vs 120/80 will be 3mm, i gues i should be ok with 1mm front and 3mm rear?
