    Split Rear Caliper

Hey all. I need to rebuild my rear caliper but can't budge the hex bolts to split it. Got it in a vise and I've hit the allen wrench with a mallet a few times. Don't want to harm the caliper body. I'm using PB Blaster, should I torch it?

    Thanks!

Get a socket type allen so you can get some leverage.

put a longer piece of pipe that snugly fits over the long handle part of the allen wrench and you can then use that for your leverage and if no pipe use one of your wrenches that has a closed end (round) and use it with the allen wrench to get leverage as well..

Yes on the cheater pipe over the allen wrench. Place a piece of wood between the caliper and the vice jaws to prevent damage.
