I have a 1978 GS750 that I am looking to raise the rear a bit. I believe the stock shock length is 13" is there a recommended maximum for lengthening the suspension as to not make the bike to twitchy? I was looking at the 14" progressive HD shocks

Honestly, I wouldn't bother and go with a correct size quality replacement shock for the GS750 and a tire that will hold on hard cornering. No sense in putting a cheap Kenda tire on after all that?Last edited by Guest; 08-19-2013, 05:03 PM.

Thanks for the reply! My 750 is chain drive. I don't know if that makes a difference or not? Sorry I mean Heavy Duty not Harley. I am looking at making a custom seat pan that sits only about an inch above the top of the frame. I am 6'4" and 200lbs and ride with a passanger 30% of the time so I was looking for something with longer travel. The HD springs will be plenty enough I belive as I had them on my 79 GS850
