Rear Brake Pad "SPRING"
For those familiar with this awkward setup/design. The GS650G rear brake pads/shims have a spring (more like a wire, see part #9 on fiche) that is pressed onto the top of the pad/shim. I don't really see the point of this spring and I don't remember exactly how it was installed. So, I'm wondering if I even need to reinstall the springs.If I should, do the ends of the spring go under the pad pins? The shop manual has no mention of these stupid little wires.

They're anti-rattle springs. Common on many car brakes too.
It's best to put them back.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
