    Between forks plastic

Does anybody know what this finned piece of plastic between the forks of my 1100EZ is? It seems to hide front brake line junction.

To me it looks like someone tried to put a foot peg in for a fork cover...

Looks like just that, a trim piece to hide the junction. Bike Bandit shows it's discontinued.
