Never used any aftermarket stuff on my brakes. I personally stay with OEM. Sure to fit AND be right when i need them.
I have used EBC pads though..guts is what i was referring to with the OEM parts.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550
NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.
I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

I've had issues with both K&L master cylinder and caliper seal kits. OEM leaves less up to chance.Ed

I've used them both, K&L once and OEM all the other time for brakes parts. K&L I'd give a grade of B-, OEM an A. It doesn't sound like much of a difference, but these are life-or-death brakes.
I retired the front master cylinder which contained the K&L rebuild, replacing it with a new one -you can buy brand-new front masters off the fiche, by the way. Otherwise at least stick to OEM parts in this area.

Thanks for the input ,I think I will go with OEM. I have never rebuilt master cyl or calipers ,so what OEM parts would I need to get separately? when I go to put in new seals should I wet them in brake fluid first? this is on my 83 1100 e. Thanks

Make sure you clean everything real, real good. Use brake fluid on the new M/C seals when you assemble the master cylinders and on the caliper rubber seals, especially when you install the pistons.

I just ordered front and rear caliper seals and a rear master cylinder kit from G&S Suzuki, OEM was a bit less $$ than K&L. I had cleaned out the calipers, rebuilt the front MC with a K&L kit, and replaced the brake lines last year, but new caliper seals really seemed like a good idea while I have everything apart for the winter.sigpic
