    gs850 fork air valve question

    Hey all,

I am working on my 850 that I purchased last year and am in the process of rebuilding the front forks.

The problem that I am having is that the air bleeder on one of my valves is gone and the other is bent all the way to the side.

this is the part i am talking about btw: http://www.cmsnl.com/gs850-1980-gt_m.../#.UwflL-NdV8E

My question is; can just the valve bleeders be replaced? They may just be schrader valves, i have not tried to remove them and couldnt find the info I needed on the net.

    Thanks!

They can be replaced. I have some extras if you need one from forks that I have that are bent or you can buy new.

Consider replacing the springs with some aftermarket ones - I have the same bike & I installed some progressive front springs in mine with a hefty spacer. Not much difference from stock IMO. If I had it to do again I'd go with a pair of straight rate Sonic Springs...

If you go with non-OEM springs then you won't need to use the air adjusters.

Have a pair of Sonics to put in my 1100 this Spring to replace the Progressive's in there now.
