Had to replace a weeping fork seal on the bike last week, strange as the PO had informed me he had replaced them about 6 yrs ago, bear in mind it's covered less than 2K since they were fitted
Turns out I'm glad I needed to change it, previously I had tried to change the setting using the adjuster but it just felt wrong, like it did nothing when I tried to turn it, what I discovered when stripping them down the PO had put the top piston the wrong way round this caused the end of the adjuster to sit in a deep recess, no wonder it felt wrong, now reassembled and fitted back on the bike we have adjustable forks 
will see what difference it makes on the next outing.
