GS850 '79 ASCO caliper rebuild stymied...

... well, it would have been a rebuild, until I took them apart, discovered they just weren't worth doing and chucked them into the corner. The corrosion on the pins (parts 11 and 12) isn't insurmountable, as surprisingly, they're still available and reasonably cheaply, but what stopped me dead in my tracks was the amount of internal corrosion in the castings - enough to make me not trust them if they're ever subjected to hard braking.
I've got a decent spare '80 caliper, and have just bought another one to partner it, so will upgrade the '79 bike sooner than I had planned to.
    This is the ASCO type...
