    fork seal replacement

Hi I'm new to the site and street bikes. I just purchased a 1981 gs850g with 22k miles. I am in the process of makin this bike roadworthy. Bikes runs but only at full choke and if I try to throttle it it dies. Traced problem to almost completely ripped intake manifold boots... I hope. It needs fork seals as well and I'm not quite sure how to do this. I am pretty mechanically inclined so I'm not nervous about it being hard I just wanna know what needs to be done. Also start button not working and it has new solenoid. I know stator is good because it does charge battery. I would like to ride this soon. Any ideas or tips? I also am in search of new seat as it has double bucket seat.

Check out this site - http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/ - which contains tons of great how to information on everything about your bike. In fact, there is a write up there for changing the fork seals
