    1100e fork parts

Anyone know where I might find a replacement for the little rubber damping adjustment wheel that is at the bottom of the forks? Mine have deteriorated and I'm not seeing them in the parts fiche

    #2
I made replacements out of brass stock, couldn't find the plastic pieces anywhere when I did it back in 2005.

Hummm....only the 80-81 GS1100Es had those, they had the leading axle forks, 83s don't as far as I know. If that is the bike you are working in your signature.

Anyways, when I rebuilt my 80/81 GS1100E forks, I found everything I needed from PartsShark with the exception of the interior bushings, though used a later model 83-83 fork bushings which is the same diameter. I would think Parstoutlaw.com would have them.

Here is the fiche, are you looking for #8? if you are that is a 80-81 fork. http://www.partsoutlaw.com/oemparts/...b91/front-fork

Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

It's above the axle, outboard with the numbers 1-4. It's mentioned in the owners manual. I'll go get a photo

As I recall... It's held on with a Phillips head screw.

That sounds doable. Drill the side for a small set screw. I might have to do something like that.
            Thanks

Yes. IIRC, the shaft has a flat on it for the screw to tighten against.

Aaah okay, definitely not and 80-81 1100E. When I was looking at the part fiche for the 83, I don't recall seeing any part # for either.
