    New shocks...big whoops? (too short leads to what?)

    I bought a new set of Hagon 2810 shocks with adjustable damping through VJ Moto (thanks for the help jwhelan), but I mistyped what I intended to order and got 330mm eye to eye instead of 350mm.

    I've installed the shocks anyhow, and the weather cleared enough to take it for a test ride. I'm very impressed with the improvement in ride over the unknown brand I have replaced. Although my copilot will appreciate not having to lift her leg higher to get on, I'm not sure whether I like how low I sit. Flat foot at lights sure, but I feel much more compressed in the hips. I wasn't able to get up to speed in the twisties.

    I CAN replace or sell the shocks, but Id rather avoid those hassles.

    The question is, what might I expect handling-wise, by leaving the shorter rear shocks in place, assuming the preload and damping are properly adjusted, and without doing anything to the front end?

    I don't know if you have clevis or post shocks but would these work for you?
    A guy from the cb1100f.net site makes them.

      Can't see it changing handling all that much, though you could drop the triple tree a bit to even things out if you like. The main concern is whether or not the tire hits the fender when the shocks are fully compressed. Other than that, it probably comes down to personal preference and comfort.

        Those look cool and are are a cool design. Well worth the $55 for extended shocks.

          Those extenders are neat, and depending upon the spacing, could easily work with either style of shock. It looks like they're designed with eye to clevis style shocks in mind, but you could flip them over to work with an eye to eye setup, so long as the dimensions work out.

            I'd be a little concerned about adding another link in series, but they do look strong, and there should be a whole lot of torsion in the system to stress the shock to link bolt. He claims to have stress tested them, so it may be worth a shot.

            His link mounts with a 10mm bolt. I picked up some new washers for the Hagon install, and the bolts on the frame on which they mount are M12. I would have to see if he could manufacture and test that size hole, or have new bushings installed in the lower end of the Hagon to eliminate slop.

            All said and done, if need be, this is an option that would eliminate extra shipping and restocking (if applicable) costs
