bandit 600 - 1200 forks whats the difference
Gonna upgrade forks on my gs 1000 and have the opportunity to get some bandit 600 forks for a good price. My question is will these work well are they different from the 1200 fork in any way. Thanks, MarkTags: None

No one has any info on the 600 - 1200 differences? Are they just sprung a bit lighter and lighter oil for a lighter bike?

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

They are only similar in appearance. Otherwise, they are completely different forks, and no parts are interchangeable.
Bandit 1200 has 43mm fork tubes, Bandit 600 is 41mm (Hopefully these forks you're eyeing come with the triple clamps included).
Bandit 1200 has adjustable spring preload, Bandit 600 does not.
Bandit 1200 uses twin Nissin 4-piston calipers and 310mm discs, Bandit 600 uses twin Tokico 2-piston calipers and 290mm discs.
Bandit 1200 has cartridge-type damping, Bandit 600 is of plain old-style damper rod construction.
Yes, there are undoubtedly differences in spring and damping rates.Last edited by Guest; 03-15-2015, 09:44 PM.
