    Fork Bolt

    Man, I wish I woulda taken a pic of this job when it was being done. The handlebars were removed and you could see the bolt (#28) that holds the spring down in-place. Here's the only pic I have that provides a view of the area in question:



    I notice that item #28 is not available to order based on the snapshot provided. Be very careful not to break this bolt...

      I had taken the forks out. Which was my mistake. Fittef them back in and cranked them down, huge ass adjustable wrench and some elbow grease and it came out. Yay! Thanks for the assist forumites.
