Smaller Front Brake Lever Master Cylinder?

Is there a smaller front brake/master cylinder assembly I can use on my 77 gs750?

I'd like to chop off an inch or two off the handle bars as I find them a bit too wide, but need the front brake assembly to be a bit smaller in size
    but compatible for the bike.

    Any ideas?

There should be a bore size stamped somewhere on the MC body (14mm, 7/8, etc). If you replace the MC with another of the same bore than you can run whatever style you like.
    Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

    Past:
    VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Guys on the ZRX1200 forum like to use EX500 master cylinders. Not sure if they are smaller in physical size. Most brake systems use 5/8" bores and are normally stamped. The guys in the ZRX forum like 1/2" bores used on EX's as they claim they have better initial feel and squeeze harder. check them over as some years have 5/8 bores also. You can use any master cyl. I am using Triumph ones on my 1100E,cause I like the feel and I have plenty of levers
